Founded in Houston in 1950, the Chinese Professional Club (CPC) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to professional development, community service, and fellowship. Celebrating more than 76 years of service, CPC has awarded over $1 million in scholarships to deserving students since 1979.

The Chinese Professional Club Scholarship Program supports academically talented, highly motivated, and/or need-based students. Applicants must:

• Be of at least 25% Chinese ancestry. 
• Class of 2027 students
• From the Greater Houston area.

The total scholarship distribution for the Class of 2027 will be determined by the CPC Fund Inc. Board of Trustees. For the Class of 2026 (selected in year 2026), individual scholarship awards granted up to $10,000, with a total of 25 recipients from the Greater Houston area.

Scholarships may be applied toward tuition, fees, or other education-related costs for the 2027–2028 academic year. Scholarship awards are made through the CPC Trust Fund.

CPC offers three types of scholarships:

• Academic Excellence Scholarship: Awarded primarily based on academic qualifications, extracurricular activities, talents, career goals, community involvement, volunteer service, leadership, projects, accomplishments, and educational plans. 
• Financial Need Scholarship: Awarded to qualified students whose families demonstrate financial need. 
• Pharmacy Scholarship: One scholarship is designated specifically for a student pursuing a degree in pharmacy. 

• Application Deadline: Submit on or before January 3, 2027, at 11:59 PM (CST). 
• Interviews: In-person interviews with the Scholarship Committee will be held in January 9, 2027 for selected applicants only. 
• Final Notifications: Scholarship recipients will be notified by late January 2027. 
• CPC Gala: Scholarship recipients are expected to attend the CPC Gala on February 27, 2027, to receive their awards. 

The CPC Scholarship Program recognizes outstanding students who demonstrate academic excellence, leadership, personal achievement, and a commitment to their schools and communities. Applications will be evaluated based on the following:

• Academic & Personal Achievements: Academic qualifications, talents, accomplishments, career goals, and educational plans. 
• Community & School Involvement: Extracurricular activities, volunteer service, leadership roles, and participation in school or community projects. 
• Financial Need: Considered as part of the evaluation process for applicants seeking need-based financial support. 
• Overall Application & Interview: The completeness and quality of the application, as well as the applicant's interview, will be considered as part of the overall evaluation. 

The CPC Scholarship Committee, composed of CPC officers and members, will review application materials and conduct interviews with selected applicants. The Committee will make the final selection of scholarship recipients based on the overall evaluation of each candidate.

A complete application must include:

• A completed application form 
• A personal essay of no more than 500 words 
• Official academic transcripts 
• Class rank 
• Standardized test scores 
• An 80–90 second personal video (do not over the time limit)
• Letters of recommendation from a teacher, counselor, or community leader 
• Supporting documentation demonstrating financial need, if applying for need-based consideration

Scholarship recipients will be expected to attend the CPC Gala and are encouraged to perform at the event.
